6:09 pm - update
Three new poems added. That's all on this site, but you have to see the [summer dream] site, I've been working on that more. Bye!

9:35 am - the fine arts festival
I'm displaying this webpage as a part of my ELP project for this year's Fine Arts Festival. The whole project is called "A Writer's Life," and this webpage is my technical element.

I've been adding a few poems a week to the page, and now I have 28 total. I haven't added any stories, because they are harder to come by. I will be working on finding more, though.

Well, I have to go get ready for the Festival, so I'll sign out now.

Bye,

Natalie

7:57 pm - it's as good as it will get
I tried to find a code for making text appear on the status bar when the pointer is dragged over a link, but I guess you can only do that with graphics, not plain text links. Ho hum. Well, I guess this is as good as I can do with the HTML that I know, though I am planning on learning a lot more once I get my huge HTML book. That thing is at least three inches thick, it's not even funny.

Well, I better go now, enjoy the site.

Natalie

8:59 pm - finally, i've put in the finishing touches...but it's still not done!
Yes, yes, I finally got things done on my webpage! I found a (cheapo, I know) way to let people know what's behind the links, and I put a cool cursor on the navigation frame. And I added three poems today. I like how it's turning out. Now, there's only one more feature to finish, and then all I will have to do is the regular updating types of things. Yay. Well, I guess I should go. I'm just glad it's almost built.

Natalie

7:11 pm - finally, it's all almost done
Yeah, it's getting very, very, close. I'm trying to figure out a way so that you can tell where the links lead to on the frames, but I'm having some HTML troubles. After that, all I have left to do is the authors.html page, and it's done! Well, except for updates, of course. Which I plan to do frequently.

I better go now and try to find that code. Bye!

Finally everything is working! Now all I have to do is get the user story up and the author index written, but all of the links work and everything fits right! It's working! Hehe.

3:55 pm - this is so frustrating!
I can't seem to get this webpage up, but I will do it if it kills me. I just can't seem to get everything just the way I want it. Or if I do get something to work, my computer freezes! Grr. Well, back to the grind...

7:43 pm - sorry, it's been awhile
I've decided I'm just going to use this journal for updates to my homepage, so before long it will be a part of that. I guess that's all I have to write for now, I have to go. See you on the next update!

9:51 pm - testing 1, 2, 3...
I just got this program downloaded to my computer and I want to try it out. How's it looking?

9:18 pm - what a useless day
I didn't really do anything today, not that that should surprise you. I sat online at my dad's for quite awhile hoping that Nick would come on. I disconnected for awhile, but when I came back, he was on! Sure enough, he had to leave right away because one of his friends came over, but it didn't sound to me like he wanted to talk to me much, anyway. But I drove past his house about 15 minutes later on my way home and Jeremy was there, so I guess that's sort of a good sign. Maybe.

Now I'm downloading the client for Live Journal so I can write offline. That will be nice. I've always wished Open Diary would have something like that, but they don't. Maybe that's part of the reason I use this place, too. I have a lot of entries in my OD, though, so I doubt I will give it up anytime soon.

Well, I best be on my way. It's getting late and I'm wiped again. Plus I still have to do my homework for the weekend. Argh!

Bye,

Natalie

8:28 pm - i've decided
I've decided that this journal is going to just be for me and no one else, unlike my Open Diary. I write thoughts and feelings-type stuff in there, or entries about a long period of time. I'll write in this one like I write in my written journal, day by day. I think. Three journals is a lot to keep up with, though, don't you think? I don't know, but I'll try.

I didn't really do much today, except sit in the Internet. I'm hoping Nicholas will come on so I can talk to him (I know, I know). I'm also looking for some new music, the Beatles have played over and over about 10 times today. But there's not much else in this house. Sigh.

Come on Nick, sign on!

Well, I guess that's all I have for an update for you.

Bye!

7:20 pm - first entry
This is the first entry in my new Live Journal, though I'm not sure if I will have any more. My good friend Steve recommended this site to me, so I thought I'd try it out. It is kind of cool, I like the way things are set up.

I guess I will tell you a few things about myself now.

My name is Natalie, and I'm from Iowa. I like to write, read, draw (it's really, really bad), design webpages, and talk on the phone to my buds. I'm 14 years old and a freshman in high school. My birthday is July 8, making me a Cancer. The crab. So fitting, huh?

It get mostly good grades, but once in awhile I'll discover I've been neglecting one of my 10 (!) classes with one of my 11 (!) extracurricular activities. My favorite class this year is Computer, even though the teacher is kind of spacey. I just love computers, I guess.

My star, the one I named after myself, is the far left one on the belt of Orion. Don't ask me why I picked that one, I guess it's just easy to find. Next to it, in the middle, is the one that I named after a good friend of mine, Nicholas, back in the day. I think he'd remember, too, if you asked. I've yet to name the last one on the belt, but I intend to someday.

My family is way, way, complicated, with both of my parents remarried and children involved and things like that, but I think I like it this way for the most part. The only think I would change is that my dad would live in this town instead of 15 miles away. My dad is really great, and my stepmom and their two kids are wonderful, too. I don't get along well with my mom, stepdad, or their son, but my mom and dad's son is okay. Confused yet? I like my only true brother and my dad, stepmom, half-sister, and half-brother, but not my mom, stepdad, or other half-brother. My stepdad has two daughters from a previous marriage, but I don't see them too much anymore, but I like them pretty well, in spite of the age differences.

Hmm, what else is there to me? I'm 5'9", about 130 pounds (too much!), with brown hair and eyes, braces (which I get off on April 12th), and a face that's waaay to long. Trust me, enough people have pointed it out that I know it's not just me.

I also have a lot of great friends. First of all, Becca, my longest-lasting friend. She's a year younger than me, but she's still cool. We aren't as close as we once were, but she's still one of my best friends. She had a short romance with a guy from my grade that I hadn't talked to much before that, and now he's one of my good friends, too. One of the closest, actually. Hey, Scott! Becca's brother Matt is also one of my friends, and he's 17. He's an awesome artist. Kara is good friends with Matt and that introduced me to her. She's going to be an awesome surgeon one day, and is well on her way. She's my idol, I tell you. Ashley's 17 or 18, I'm not sure. I haven't talked to her much lately, but we were cheerleaders together, and she's pretty cool. Amy's 15, and I've kind of neglected her lately, too. She's got a man, Adam, from out of town. She's hilarious, let me tell you. Tim's 16, and an aspiring writer. He's got a girl from out of town. Greg's 16, and the last of them all, but not least. He's really nice, cares about people a lot and it shows.

I guess that's all you need to know about me.

Bye,

Natalie
